Founded in 2015, Gateway Pediatric Surgery Center specializes in the surgical treatment of children. Our facility is in a newly renovated building with top-of-the-line equipment and ORs to best serve our patients and staff. We’re an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) that has been accredited by the AAAHC. What does that mean?
The AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care) is a strict organization that only provides accreditation to ASCs that meet their high standards. The AAAHC is “the leader in developing standards to advance and promote patient safety, quality care, and value for ambulatory health care through peer-based accreditation processes, education, and research. A certificate of accreditation is awarded to organizations that are found to be in compliance with AAAHC Standards.”
In order to meet the AAAHC Standards, we operate with the following equipment:
- Two class-C ORs
- New GE monitors and anesthesia machines
- Crash cart
- Malignant hyperthermia cart
- Central air/medical gasses
- Central suction
- Generator and battery backup power
- Emergency transfer agreement with Legacy Emanuel
Our patients can relax in our family-friendly waiting room with the following amenities:
- Bean-bag chairs
- Children’s books & movies
- Recliner seats for mom and dad
Our facility also offers:
- A private consultation room with video interpretation for non-English speaking families
- Bright, open pre- and post-op areas, available to parents before and after surgery
- Secure staff locker rooms with both a restroom and shower
